SFOR Air Component The SFOR Air Component Commander is Commander Allied Air Forces Southern Europe (COMAIRSOUTH), Lt. Gen. Michael C. Short, USAF. Air assets previously associated with Operation “Deny Flight” were transferred on 20 December 95 to Operation “Decisive Endeavour”, in support of IFOR. On 21 December 96 those air forces were transferred to Operation “Deliberate Guard”, in support of SFOR. On 20 June 1998 Operation "Deliberate Guard" ended, replaced by Operation "Deliberate Forge," due to the extension of the SFOR mandate.
