Iraq’s Oldest Military Academy Begins New Chapter with Training Facility

The military academy at Ar Rustamiyah took control of a freshly renovated training area here Feb. 1 in a ceremony that marked the completion of a six-month, NATO and United States Forces-Iraq project.

Iraqi Joint Staff College Graduates Earn their “Red Stripe”

Baghdad , Iraq ,25th January 2010

Ninety-six Iraqi officers graduated from a year-long course at the Joint Staff Command College (JSCC) here Jan. 25. The graduates from the Iraqi armed forces and the Ministry of Interior are now qualified as staff officers, which is distinguished on their uniforms by a red stripe on the shoulder epaulettes.
