JOINT FORCE COMMAND, Naples – Commander Joint Force Command Naples Admiral Mark Fitzgerald hosted the Honourable David Thorne, U.S. Ambassador to Italy at JFC on 3 Nov.

An Honors Cordon Ceremony was held in honor of Ambassador Thorne’s arrival.

Ambassador Thorne was sworn in as the U.S. Ambassador to Italy and the Republic of San Marino on August 17, 2009. He grew up in Rome and speaks fluent Italian nurturing a deep appreciation and knowledge of Italy’s culture, politics and society.

Ambassador Thorne is also a former President and current Board member of the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston and led the design oversight team for its new building in Boston.
